This module is for back end control only of Philips Hue lighting from URC’s Total Control platform. It does not include a user interface. It allows for creation of groups, setting of individual lights or groups of lights, and some advanced features like color loops and alerts. It also has an increment feature that allows for raise and lower of brightness or other values.
Available TCL Commands
- Create Group -Allows you to create a Group Name that can be used in later commands to set multiple lights together
- Simple Control – Provides simple settings: Off/On/ROYGBIV colors
- Set State – Advanced control for all available paramaters
- Increment State – Provides the ability to increment value of Hue/Brightness/Saturation
- Recall Scene – Recalls a scene that has been create by the native Hue app
- Query Light State – Returns the status of single light and saves chosen state to a URC integer variable
File > Import & Restart
This is a two way module that is packaged as a TCM file that needs to be imported in to the Accelerator software. When you click Import TCM FIle here you will need to change the Files of type to Total Control 1.0 Module Library (*.tcm). Then navigate to where you downloaded the Spin – Hue.tcm file and choose it. After you have imported make sure you restart Accelerator in order to complete the installation.
Step 4. Add Other Devices > Confirm & Add
After you have restarted Accelerator go to step 4. and navigate to the module.
My > IP Database > AUX > SPIN > HUE
When the module is selected make sure that the checkbox is checked in section 8 that says Spin – Events Main Functions. If not try reimporting and restart Accelerator. Once you are sure you have the checkbox checked. Click Add Selected Module to add the module to your tree.
Step 6. Network Setup
At Step 6. click on Non URC Device and fill in the IP address of the Hue Bridge. Port is internally set for this module.
Step 11. System Parameters
At Step 11. under Two Way Module Settings from the first drop downs choose the room that the module is located at in the tree and in the second drop down choose the lutron module.
Next in the bottom right under System Parameter Information you will insert your BlackWire module license key where it say license=.
Once the module loads for the first time you will need to link the Hue Bridge to the module. This is done by pressing the Link button on the Hue Bridge. This only has to be done once. The module will store the link code in hard memory and it will not be erased by resets or downloads. It would only be required again if a hard reset of the MRX controller was performed.
When using group programming, you should create all your groups in a startup event using the Events module. Light ID’s can be found in the native Phillips Hue app under Settings > About.
