This driver integrates certain models of Kramer HDMI matrix switches into a Control4 system.
Compatibility:
– VS-44H2A
– VS-88H2A
– VS-44H2 (No Audio)
– VS-88H2 (No Audio)
– VS-48H2 (No Audio)
– VS-66H2 (No Audio)
– VS-84H2 (No Audio)
– VS-88UHDA (Alternate Serial Commands)
*Other models not listed here should work too. Always use the trial to confirm compatibility with your switcher.
**Driver was built and tested using VS-44H2A
-2-Way RS-232 communication
-Discrete Volume & Mute Control & Feedback (for models with Audio outputs)
-Video Matrix switching (up to 8×8)
-Standard and Alternate Serial Commands for increased switch compatibility
-Physically connect all of your Audio/Video inputs and outputs to the HDMI Matrix switch.
-Configure the HDMI Matrix switch per the product manual.
-Place the Kramer HDMI Matrix driver into your Control4 driver directory. (Typically C:UsersyourusernameDocumentsControl4Drivers)
Add the Kramer HDMI Matrix driver into your Control4 project.

Connect All HDMI inputs to driver
Connect All HDMI Outputs To Driver

Connect All Audio outputs to Driver
*Despite having SPDIF outputs, Many switches do NOT support Volume Control out of the SPDIF outputs…. ONLY the analog audio outputs.
Connect Serial RS-232 To Driver
*If you are not able to properly communicate with the Kramer HDMI Matrix Switch, you may want to switch from strait-through to NULL wiring.

Connect Audio Endpoints to Driver as needed.
*HINT* If connecting audio outputs to a dumb amplifier to power speakers in the room, connect the room’s “Audio End-point 1”, “Video’s Audio End-Point 1”, “Video Volume 1”, and “Audio Volume 1” to the Kramer endpoint connections.
-Enter a valid activation code on the Properties tap of the driver (Or use free 72 hour trial)
-Refresh Navigators
-That’s It!

ACTIONS
Unlock Front Panel: Disable Lock to allow buttons on front panel to control the HDMI Matrix Switch
Lock Front Panel: Enable Lock to prevent buttons on front panel from controlling the HDMI Matrix Switch
Enable DHCP: Force the Ethernet port on the HDMI Matrix Switch to acquire its IP address from a local DHCP server
Clear Incoming Buffer: Forces all timers within the driver to expire. Use if it is determined the HDMI Matrix Switch has stopped responding to commands.
Populate Info: Requests product details from the HDMI Matrix Switch device and displays it on the Properties tab. Use if the product details did not automatically populate on the Properties tab.
Zero All Inputs/Outputs: Resets all volume levels to the original volume levels and turns off any video mute settings
Kill All Timers: Forces all timers within the driver to expire. Use if it is determined the HDMI Matrix Switch has stopped responding to commands.
Limitations
-This driver only supports basic matrix switching of HDMI inputs to outputs. Any switches that support Audio Break Out, step-in/step-out features, ARC, etc. will not function properly with those features enabled. It is always recommended to “lock” the audio to video when switching with this driver.
-Some switches support Audio Extraction on the outputs which IS supported, HOWEVER, the switches appear to only support volume level control on the Analog Audio output and NOT the SPDIF output. If you need to utilize volume control and mute control, it is recommended that you utilize the Analog Audio outputs and NOT the SPDIF outputs.
-This driver requires Composer version 2.8.2 or higher. Using on a previous version may work, however it is untested.
-It is very common to receive a “ERR_PARAMETER_OUT_OF_RANGE / Parameter out of range” error in the logs. This error is due to the fact that the driver is built for up to 8 inputs and 8 outputs. If you are using an HDMI switch that has less than 8 inputs and/or 8 outputs, the driver might send commands to adjust inputs or outputs that are not present on your HDMI switch.
-It is recommended to NOT use the ‘control’ control inside composer to manually control the matrix switch. Due to the endpoints/connection types and other factors, the ‘control’ control does not properly control the device. Any use of the ‘control’ control may result in strange behavior of the HDMI switch
-If your switch does not control properly with the driver, select “Alternate” in the drop down box labeled “Serial Commands on the properties page”
