The Blackwire DMX IP Bridge, also know as the Grape Box, enables up to 1024 DMX channels of control over IP. A 3 Pin XLR and RJ45 connector provide ease of connection with all of the popular DMX decoders.

OS 3.3.0+ which features support for color temperature, circadian rhythm, and RGB color selection, is required to use this DMX bridge. This is not compatible with any previous versions of Control4 OS.

Driver Mode

Driver Mode features the following driver types:

  • Single Channel Dimmer
  • Dual Channel Tunable Dimmer
  • RGB (Red, Green, Blue)
  • RGB (Red, Green, Blue) Plus White
  • RGB (Red, Green, Blue) Plus Dual White

A single switch driver is also included

Automatic Licensing

There is no need to purchase a driver license as it will automatically activate when it detects the Blackwire Grape Box.

Default Settings

  • Default IP Address:  192.168.0.5
  • Default Subnet: 255.255.255.0
  • Default Password: (none)
  • DMX Port 1 (3 Pin XLR)
    • DMX Universe: 0
    • DIP Switch 1: DMX OUT (Up)
  • DMX Port 2 (RJ45) 
    • DMX Universe: 0
    • DIP Switch 2: DMX OUT (Up)

IP Setup Quick Start

  1. Ensure that the DMX Box is powered on and directly connected to your computer using the ETHERNET RJ45 port
  2. Configure your IP address to 192.168.0.100
  3. Type 192.168.0.5 into your browser and press enter
  4. At the password prompt press Submit
  5. Under Network Settings change the IP Configuration setting to Custom IP
  6. Configure an appropriate static IP, subnet, and gateway for your network
  7. Disconnect the network cable from your computer and connect the DMX Bridge to the control system network

Known Issues

  • Some fixtures experience a flash of white while ramping up or down in color modes - [Investigating]
  • Some fixtures may turn off after receiving a command - [Investigating]
  • The switch driver is no longer supported. It may be added back in the future as an option to use the Control4 switch proxy when needed.
